Classroom Assistant

Department: Children of The Woodlands ‐ Preschool

FUNCTION:

Children of The Woodlands Preschool (COTW), an outreach of The Woodlands Methodist Church (TWMC) is seeking candidates for Classroom Assistants for the 2022-2023 school year.
The Classroom Assistant is responsible for supporting the Preschool Teacher in the classroom with preparing materials, following plans and supervision of the students. This position is also critical in helping to provide the best possible learning environment for children assigned to the class by supporting the Guiding Principles of the school.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support mission statement, guiding principles and school philosophy
  • Assist the classroom teachers in assigned tasks, following daily plans, working with children, preparing materials, cleaning the room, supervising on the playground, and in keeping with school philosophy
  • Arrive in time to have classroom ready and be prepared for students prior to devotion time each day
  • Be involved in learning appropriate classroom practices through “modeling”, continuing education and an awareness of SACS accreditation and/or DFPS minimum standards

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Developing plans for student care based on assessment, interventions, and identification of outcomes, and the evaluation of care
  • Cares for students with chronic illnesses developing a health care plan with the physician and parents. Communicates and coordinates the needs of the student with the teachers
  • Provide care for students with acute illnesses and injuries
  • Serving as consultants with other school professionals, such as teachers, food service personnel, physical education teachers, coaches, and counselors
  • Providing health-related education to students and staff in both individual and group settings. Helps teach and arrange speakers for Health Education TEKS.
  • Monitoring immunizations, managing communicable diseases, and assessing the school environment to prevent injury and ensure safety
  • Overseeing infection control measures
  • Actively participating in school safety plans that address school violence, bullying, and emergencies that may occur at school
  • Overseeing medication administration, health care procedures, and the development of healthcare plans
  • Monitor and maintain yearly required Medical Release and Physical forms for students
  • Overseeing vision, hearing, scoliosis and speech screening procedures and reporting results to state as required by law.
  • Making decisions related to the delegation of healthcare tasks as directed by state laws and professional practice guidance
  • Providing health advice to school educational teams, such as the Counselor and Developmental Specialist teams in developing plans and IP’s for students.

COTW Nurse Substitute

The Video Production Intern is responsible for assisting the Video Production Specialist in creating a visual representation of the work The Woodlands Methodist Church performs in the community through video.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Assist Video Production Specialist in capturing and editing content that portrays the messages The Woodlands Methodist Church broadcasts every weekend.

    The Woodlands Methodist Church is seeking a talented graphic designer for the purposes of visually communicating our mission and ministries to a wide variety of audiences.     SCHEDULE

    This is a full-time, permanent position. Competitive salary and benefits offered. Work hours are 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Monday - Friday.     This position is a part of The Woodlands Methodist Church Media Team, which resides in the Creative Services department. The person in this role will work alongside their fellow techs to provide technical services to church ministry clients and guests alike. This position receives task requests and scheduling assignments from the Media Scheduling Manager, who is also their direct supervisor. They may also receive instruction and requests from the Weekend Worship Manager and Production Manager, who work alongside the Media Scheduling Manager. This position is integrated into a team where participation in all events and tasks will be expected as assigned, however there will be heavy emphasis on lighting systems and programming.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Experience in stage lighting design and systems
    • Proven experience in managing tasks and projects
    • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
    • Excellent communication skills both in person and in writing
    • Able to perform under stress of live production and deadline driven environments

    YOU WILL:

    • Be assigned to operate a Grand MA 2/3 lighting console during services each week.
    • Perform lighting system programming on a weekly basis in multiple worship venues.
    • Thoroughly check lighting systems for any needed maintenance or programming changes.
    • Personally perform basic maintenance needs such as changing fixture lamps, cleaning lenses, etc.
    • Work with the Scheduling Manager to create tasks or projects for team assistance in accomplishing lighting goals.
    • Follow industry safety standards in such situations as working at height and rigging of lighting fixtures.
    • Maintain an equipment inventory in multiple locations that requires diligence in proper storage, expendable purchasing, and communication of additional needs to your supervisor.

    This position will monitor the campus for building maintenance items, safety issues, prohibited or concerning behavior of persons throughout the campus, respond to emergency situations to minimize risk and / or loss to buildings, property or persons.

    The Human Resources Advisor works with a team to administer human resources policies, procedures, and programs for the church and school, and monitors compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws.

    Provides payroll and benefits administration support as needed.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resource Management or related course of study.
    • PHR or SHRM-CP preferred.
    • Five to seven years of prior HR Generalist experience in a mid-sized organization, providing HR support to multiple internal clients and business functions.
    • Strong conflict resolution skills, and ability to effectively manage competing priorities.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

    WORK SCHEDULE:

    Part-time hourly (20-25 hours/week), weekdays; occasionally some work on Sundays may be required.

    Reports to the Human Resources Director.

    Noah's Nook Nursery is accepting applications for child care workers at The Woodlands and Woodforest campuses. Current openings are on Sunday mornings and other shifts as needed.

    JOB DUTIES

    • Prepare daily activities, reading, art and music
    • Greet and communicate with parents about child’s needs and activities
    • Engage with children during playtime
    • Support children’s emotional and social development
    • Change diapers and assist with toilet training
    • Supervise safe play
    • Sanitize toys and room daily

    SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

    • Love working with preschool-aged children
    • Be a team player
    • Be able to lift 40 pounds on a regular basis
    • Be at least 18 years old
    • Child care experience preferred
    • Be able to communicate effectively in English
