The Caring and Prayer Administrative Assistant provides administrative support for the congregational care ministry of a large membership, multi-campus church with specific emphasis on Pastoral Care, Prayer, and Senior Adult Ministry. Demonstrates The Woodlands Methodist Church’s (TWMC) mission to win people to Jesus Christ, disciple them in faith, and help those in need.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Support church-wide prayer ministry across all worship communities. This includes:

  • Create a culture where volunteers love to serve by recruiting, coaching, equipping, and empowering a full team of volunteer leaders for Caring Ministry.
  • Communicate neatly and concisely via phone, email, and text to serve the congregation in scheduling appointments.
  • Assist those in need by referring them to an outside organization, one of TWMCs Pastors, or a counseling center.
  • Respond to non-emergency answering service calls.
  • Distribute birth and sympathy cards to members as needed.
  • Liaison between church and families experiencing loss.
  • Coordinate, prepare, and support funeral and memorial services as needed.
  • Communicate with staff, funeral pastoral care team, and funeral homes.
  • Collaborate with families in gathering information and creating funeral bulletins.
  • Organize and schedule two appreciation luncheons (Spring and Christmas).
  • Present members of Prayer Shawl with Christmas ornament.
  • Facilitate Senior Adult Fitness kickoff event in January on both The Woodlands and Woodforest campuses including ordering t-shirts (in collaboration with Rec Ministry), purchase door prizes, and purchase snacks.
  • Assist with prayer ministry coordination, administrative oversight of ministry, and meeting preparations for weekly prayer groups, including purchasing materials, room reservations, and coordination of room set-up.
  • Create events for classes, memorial services, inurnments, and groups using FMX.
  • Update and review FMX as needed.
  • Create program registrations, update member profiles in Rock church management system.
  • Track hospitalizations, cancer, hospice, physical rehab, homebound, etc.
  • Run reports as requested for Administrative Board.
  • Submit programming information to Creative Services for publication using communications request form in Rock.
  • Update Care Ministry website as needed.
  • Prepare and distribute letter for Stephen Ministry quarterly books.
  • Send emails, schedule classes online, and track registration for Divorce Care ministry.
  • Set-up treats with coffee cart for Prayer Shawl.
  • Collaborate with Connections Ministry to maintain the inventory of quilts and supplies.
  • Set-up room and keep attendance in G.R.O.W. for Senior Adult Fitness.
  • Schedule rooms, update website, keep attendance in G.R.O.W., and communicate with leaders of Men’s Book Club (meets the second and fourth Wednesday of the month).

The Woodlands Methodist Church Creative Services Department is seeking an energetic and experienced Design Supervisor to advance the message of Jesus Christ in fresh and compelling ways. Responsible for troubleshooting and resolving problems with user hardware and software at The Woodlands Methodist Church (TWMC), including The Woodlands Methodist School, and The Church at Woodforest.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Provide a high level of customer service for users experiencing problems with hardware and software related issues. Learn IT policies and procedures and be able to convey the basic philosophy to users in a way that is easily understood by basic users.

SUMMARY

The International Missions Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing administrative assistance to the Missions Pastor and support to ministry activities for international missions. Demonstrates The Woodlands Methodist Church’s (TWMC) mission to reach people for Jesus Christ, disciple them in faith, and help those in need.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Schedule and arrange meetings, including arranging media support, food service, FMX reservations, and event registrations.

  • Edit correspondence and ensure document accuracy.

The Media Tech will work alongside their fellow techs to provide technical services to church ministry clients and guests. This position receives task requests and scheduling assignments from the Media Scheduling Manager. This position is integrated into a team where participation in all events and tasks will be expected as assigned, however, there will be heavy emphasis on campus support for The Church at Montgomery and The Church at Woodforest.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

RELATIONAL LEADERSHIP

  • Work with the Scheduling Manager to support ministry events on church campuses.

STRATEGIC/OPERATIONAL LEADERSHIP

  • Operate an audio console during services each week.
  • Transport and perform AVL system setup on a weekly basis.
  • Thoroughly check AVL systems for any needed maintenance or programming changes.
  • Personally perform basic maintenance needs such as troubleshooting audio/video signal flow. Follow industry safety standards in all situations such as working at heights and rigging of AVL gear.
  • Maintain equipment inventory in multiple locations that requires diligence in proper storage, purchasing, and communication of additional needs to your supervisor.
  • Perform duties that fall outside of the audio category such as running lighting or graphics for a worship service, building video screens, or assisting in a scenic construction project when requested.

The Lead Shepherd is responsible for developing a dynamic ministry to children, three years of age through fourth grade, in collaboration with the full children’s shepherd team. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Provide prayerful, visionary leadership for the overall function of Next Gen Ministries, ages three through fourth grade. This includes:

RELATIONAL LEADERSHIP

  • Create a culture where volunteers love to serve by recruiting, coaching, equipping, and empowering a full team of volunteer leaders for Next Gen Ministries.
  • Implement creative training and connection opportunities for volunteers through regularly scheduled gatherings, individual connections, pre-service huddles, and regular written communication.
  • Provide supervisory leadership and oversight to the Early Childhood, Elementary and Loft Ministry Assistants and Ministry Leads, along with volunteer teams, and interns; ensuring each member’s consistent execution of vision, values, and programming to create a vibrant ministry environment that leads children toward maturity in their faith through teaching the Word of God on a weekly basis.
  • In coordination with the Next Gen Ministry team, create and follow a plan for consistent communication with early childhood and elementary parents, utilizing multiple platforms to ensure effective reach and interaction.

  • Provides pastoral counseling to children in age-appropriate ways, in compliance with TWMC’s Safe Sanctuary and Sexual Ethics guidelines.

  • Collaborate with Next Gen Ministry leadership to develop and implement an ongoing and effective orientation, placement, and onboarding process for volunteers. Ensure alignment to these policies.
  • Maintain a consistent presence during services, supporting ministry teams as needed, interacting with parents, and observing needs and improvement.
  • Collaborate with Next Gen Shepherds to research effective ministry to these age groups. Selects and/or creates religious content and curriculum for children including worship experiences, Bible study, and other programs.
  • Maintain agreed upon policies, procedures, and standards that ensure the health, safety, and security of children and volunteers. Ensure all Next Gen Early Childhood, Elementary staff and volunteer leaders are confident in their role in emergency response.
  • Recognizing parents as a child’s primary faith trainer, provide weekly follow-up materials that empower parents to continue faith conversations based on weekly lessons. Coordinate this material with the other Next Gen Kids Lead Shepherds.
  • Oversee/administer a range of care, teaching, fellowship, and discipleship opportunities for first through fourth grade students including, weekly services, mid-week ministry, and special events.
  • In collaboration with Ministry Leads ensure preparation of lesson plans, organize materials, schedule volunteers.
  • Evaluate ministry programs for effectiveness and adjust as needed.
  • Manage materials preparation, including ordering, planning for volunteer preparation, set-up, and storage.

QUALIFICATIONS

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES WITHIN THE FOLLOWING MINISTRIES:

  • NextGen Kids – Assist the NextGen Kids staff on Sunday mornings in executing Sunday school lessons, crafts, and games. Interns are focused on making sure students ages 3 years old – 4th grade are nurtured and feel seen.
  • Recreation – Serve as a facility aid to keep our sports and fitness facility operations running smoothly, as a camp counselor making an impact on kids through sports camps and clinics, or as a referee or gameday assistant for our youth sports leagues.
  • Special Needs Ministry – Special Blessings interns serve as one-on-one buddies for children with a variety of special needs. Your job is to help make Sunday school a place where each child is included and thrives. This includes Sunday mornings and various special events throughout the year. Each buddy is given tools (“buddy bag,” schedule, headphones) to help the child be successful in Sunday school. Experience is not required, training available. Must have a teachable spirit and be flexible.

CARING MINISTRY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • leadership of the congregational prayer ministry and special needs ministry
  • leadership within Special Needs Ministry pastors and support team including team meetings for communication and encouragement
  • develop and lead new ministry opportunities and support existing ministry opportunities as part of G.R.O.W. discipleship pathway
  • provide pastoral care phone calls and in-person office visits
  • hospital visitation and hospice support will be high priority tasks for this position, including regular trips to the Texas Medical Center

The Special Needs Ministry Assistant provides a consistent adult staff presence for Special Needs Ministry activities while fostering a positive environment for discipleship, fellowship, and worship. SCOPE

The Woodlands Methodist School (TWMS) is an outreach of The Woodlands Methodist Church (TWMC). This position supports Elementary School students by leading students toward the goal of academic, spiritual, and social/emotional development. The position also serves the needs of TWMS students with diagnosed learning differences who need additional support through classroom accommodations. In this capacity, the Counselor works to create and implement Individual Plans (IPs) for these students in collaboration with teachers, administrators, and families. The Counselor supports and encourages classroom teachers in the use of best practices in accommodating students with learning differences and helps to link the parents of these students to outside resources for support and intervention. Additionally, the elementary counselor will assist with admissions testing for elementary students who are applying for admission to TWMS.

JOB DUTIES

  • Provide communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution support to students
  • Provide support to elementary students by making scheduled classroom visits to teach skills related to social/emotional learning, leadership, organization, and goal setting.
  • Meet with small groups of students who need extra support with social/emotional skills or are having difficulty in life outside of school and need extra support due to a life or family situation.
  • Participate in conferences with teachers and parents, as requested/needed.
  • Review educational evaluation paperwork from outside sources (psychologist or diagnostician) to determine the need for an Individual Plan (IP) to support individual student’s learning in the classroom.
  • Draft Individual Plans (IP) and hold meetings with parents, teachers, and administrators to review and sign.
  • Update each student’s Individual Plan yearly to account for growth and changes as students move through their school years.
  • Serve as a resource for classroom teachers; providing training, support, information, resources, and observation, as needed.
  • Serve as a resource for parents by connecting them with information about counseling and educational services available in the community and information about the educational evaluation process.
  • Oversee protocol and scheduling for all outside therapists who serve students on the TWMS campus.
  • Assist with elementary admissions testing and serve on the Elementary Admissions Committee.
  • Meet school requirements for in-service training and professional growth in a timely manner.
  • Attend annual school wide events.
  • Cooperate with others who share an interest in the well-being of the students, including school staff and other TWMC ministries and parents.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • College degree in Education with a Master’s Degree in Counseling, required
  • Texas Certification as a School Counselor, required
  • Experience in student observation and development of written learning accommodations, preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of teaching at the elementary level are required
  • Must be a committed Christian comfortable with sharing their faith with children and families
  • Must pass background check requirements, which include fingerprinting and an extensive background check

The Church at Woodforest is a campus of The Woodlands Methodist Church (TWMC). Our Woodforest campus has been a worshiping congregation since January 2016. Worship services are filled with contemporary worship music and engaging Bible teaching. Families and individuals of all ages are invited to join this “front porch” community of believers. The Associate Pastor will assist the Woodforest Lead Pastor in shepherding the Woodforest congregation.
