40 Days of Prayer

40 days and 40 nights. It’s a familiar phrase found throughout biblical scripture, often in the context of trial and testing. Moses was on Mount Sinai for 40 days and nights as he received the Ten Commandments from God. Jesus was tempted for 40 days and nights as he began his ministry, and later, we learn 40 days and nights passed between Jesus’ resurrection and ascension.

What a fitting number of days and nights to spend in prayer, fasting and listening for the Holy Spirit to guide our congregation. Please join us in our 40 Days of Prayer as we discern our next steps in ministry together.

Day 40

A Prayer For The New Creation

"Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also, there was no more sea. Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, ‘Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no pain, for the former things have passed away."
